Garnish began in early 2024 with jewels delicately arranged to spell out the words "my love." This gesture became the foundation for a series that explores form, color, and texture with a personal touch.
Rich reds, opulent golds, and deep navy blues. The vintage tone is woven through the use of water-stained wood, pearls, and velvet, evoking a sense of nostalgia. These textures and materials suggest a narrative of heritage and history, offering a tactile connection to the past.
At its heart, the series transforms jewellery into a medium of personal expression. The "my love" centerpiece serves as a declaration, reflecting on the stories and memories these pieces hold. Garnish is not just an exploration of aesthetics but a tribute to the sentimentality and storytelling embedded in adornments.

The direction for this sepia series embraces both the timeless and the contemporary. The intentional choice of a monochromatic palette strips away distractions and focuses on form, evoking a sense of classicism. The anonymity of the subject allows their body to become a universal representation of humanity, shifting the focus entirely to the physical form and the emotions conveyed through posture and muscle tension. This anonymity in addition to the jewellery also emphasises the non-binary nature of the body depicted, celebrating a spectrum of gender expressions that transcend traditional binaries. The jewels serving as both adornment and a symbolic exploration of identity and self-expression.

The series incorporates contemporary elements mixed with vintage pieces, evoking the early 2000s era known for its playful fashion experimentation. This period was characterized by a blend of eclectic styles, bold experimentation, and vintage revival.
The 2000s girl embodied a carefree attitude, unafraid to make a statement, using chunky accessories, bright colors, and daring combinations to express a sense of freedom and individuality.
